They provide a world-class performance rehabilitation service comprising multidisciplinary experts, advanced technologies, personalised care, and a holistic approach.
The IRU exists to ensure the highest quality of sport science, medicine and therapy support to Olympic and Paralympic athletes. In order to achieve this, it is committed to working closely with the National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) and the Home Country Sports Institutes (HCSI’s).
The service is available to UK World Class funded athletes from both summer and winter sports, across all the home nations. This multi-disciplinary residential service aims to provide timely, intensive rehabilitation to compliment and add value to an athlete’s recovery from surgery and/or injury. Referrals can be received either directly from the NGB or from HCSI support staff.
