Skills 4 Performance is back!

Sarah Dickinson | 10 May 2019

The English Institute of Sport is looking for the next generation of support staff to join the team that supported 93% of medal-winning athletes at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The EIS’s hugely successful immersive course, ‘Skills4Performance’, will be returning in June 2019 to help with this search.

Take a look at what some of our practitioners and some of last year’s attendees had to say about the event:

Skills4Performance aims to provide an insight into the elite sport environment and seek out talented individuals looking to develop their careers in high performance sport. Skills4Performance will offer unique workshops and inspiring speakers that aim to give attendees a better understanding of what is required to work in high performance sport. The course will be held on the 29th June 2019 at the Lilleshall high performance centre. Highlights will include:

  • Engaging with EIS heads of service and their technical teams for a 1-day course at an EIS centre.
  • 8 discipline routes on offer. Choose from: biomechanics, performance analysis, performance lifestyle, performance nutrition, performance psychology, physiology, physiotherapy, and strength and conditioning.
  • Training in specific practical and personal skills, essential for working in high performance sport.
  • The chance to learn about the high performance system from top speakers, which in the past have included Olympic champions, Performance Directors and leading coaches.

Do you want to learn more about working in the elite sport environment? Do you want to see what it is like to be part of the team behind the team? Have you got what it takes to be a high-performing practitioner in elite sport? Then visit our vacancies page to find out how you can apply.
