Exciting Opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team at the EIS

EIS | 05 July 2018

An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the EIS as Director of Performance Support, joining the Senior Leadership Team.

The position has responsibility for leading and supporting the development of the Heads of Performance Support (HoPS), a group of individuals who work in National Governing Bodies to lead the sports science and medicine teams and to bring teams closer to coaching and performance through the What it Takes to Win philosophy (WITTW).

The Director of Performance Support role is focussed on two main areas of work: firstly, building relationships between key individuals within sports and the EIS; and supporting individuals, including the HoPS and the Performance Support Mentors.

Nigel Walker, National Director of the EIS, welcomes applications from anyone with a track record of strong leadership, relationship-building and people development.

He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to help develop and connect the leaders of performance support teams across the high performance system.

“Sports have taken the concept of WITTW to a new level this cycle and the new Heads of Performance Support (HoPS) roles have an absolutely key role to play in helping facilitate this philosophy in partnership with Performance Directors, coaches and support teams.

“The new director will have a chance to bring strategic vision and energy to continue to work with sports to help them develop and evolve their WITTW philosophy.”

The successful applicant will need to have significant passion and energy for working with talented and ambitious individuals working in the sports and for the EIS.

Walker added: “The successful applicant will be working with an incredibly talented group of mentors and project leaders, and this is a great privilege. It is rare to have the chance to lead so many talented and energised people, and I look forward to reviewing applications which will reflect a desire to work in this rare and exciting space.”
