Skiggs joins EIS as Director of Finance and Business Operations

The English Institute of Sport (EIS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Skiggs as its new Director of Finance and Business Operations.

Skiggs, who took up the post last week, will have responsibility to build, develop and lead the EIS Operations, Finance, IT and Legal departments, becoming a key member of the EIS Senior Management Team.

A qualified accountant, he studied Economics and Statistics at Keele University and held operational and finance roles for a national delivery company before spending the last ten years with MAN Truck and Bus (part of the VW group), most recently as Finance Director.

Skiggs said: “Last year whilst attending the Olympics in Rio I made a promise to myself to get a job within sport.

“I’m thrilled to join the EIS and hope to bring this excitement and enthusiasm to the role. I look forward to working as part of the team behind the team and building on the successes of the organisation.”

EIS National Director Nigel Walker said: “Jamie has a great deal of relevant experience to fulfil this vital role for the organisation and the panel were particularly impressed by his clear passion and enthusiasm to work in elite sport during the interview process.

“I have no doubts he will be an excellent addition to our Senior Management Team and I look forward to working closely with him.”
