The Opportunity

The UK Sports Institute and British Gymnastics have an exciting opportunity for a full time Lead Physiotherapist working in Lilleshall.

A snapshot of the role

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Physiotherapist to take on a lead role in the development and delivery of physical health strategy and services in British Gymnastics. Through the leadership of a connected network of practitioners, this role will ensure a highly advanced and specialised musculoskeletal Physiotherapy provision to the World Class Programme (WCP). Working collaboratively across the interdisciplinary support team, the position will be responsible for leading the strategic development and evaluation of physical health services across the WCP. The post holder will facilitate solutions to complex performance challenges to optimise athlete health and maximise availability for performance, including the leadership of athlete health related performance projects.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of world-leading Physiotherapy and health service provision across British Gymnastics and will lead the delivery of athlete management and rehabilitation strategies across the wider interdisciplinary support team. In addition, the post holder will provide leadership and clinical supervision to a team of practitioners within the performance support team alongside specialist consultancy to support the management of complex presentations across the WCP. The role also includes leadership and line management responsibilities to two Physiotherapists, and support to a consistent network of contract for services (CFS) Physiotherapists.

Location & Travel:

Please note this role is based at Lilleshall National Sport Centre but will require travel to gymnast clubs across the UK. The role involves some delivery at national training camps and competition, and travel to one international competition (circa 10 days) per year.
