Diving Performance
As an aesthetic, acrobatic, judged sport, GB divers must be explosive, flexible, coordinated and graceful whilst dropping from up to 32 feet. Combining these attributes along with a strong mental focus and bravery, they perform within 3m Springboard, 10m Platform, 3m and 10m Synchronised events.
British Diving uses a range of UKSI Sport Science and Medicine support services at camps and competitions as well as within its home training programme delivered from its training bases in Leeds, London, Plymouth and Sheffield.
Working closely with the coaches and each individual athlete plan, practitioners focus on supporting training and performance to ensure the physical capacity to deliver the dive difficulty, technique and consistency is maintained along with the ability to perform under pressure on the world stage.
Being an athlete isn’t just about being strong, powerful and precise. Most competitions are won by the person who can keep their thoughts and mind under control. Sports psychology for me is one of the most important parts of my training. The EIS practitioners give me the power to go all the way and win! The support I’ve received from the EIS has made me into the diver I am today.
