Para-Archery Performance
A target sport requiring very fine motor control, accuracy and focus, the GB Archery Olympic and Paralympic programmes utilise sport science and medical support to underpin key movements and strength required, as well as performing them all under pressure.
UKSI practitioners provide support to the Archery GB programme from their training base at Lilleshall National Sport Centre, as well as camps and competitions, working closely with athletes, coaches and across the breadth of the support team in place behind the squad.
Practitioners work across disciplines to support day-to-day training as well as innovative solutions, whether its Performance Psychology equipping athletes to perform under pressure and better manage the shift in mentality from head-to-head competition to qualification and ranking rounds, or Biomechanics, Physiotherapy and the coaching team working to optimise athletes’ stance and wheelchair set up to shoot effectively.
