Playing the percentages: British Curling and EIS Performance Data

Curling traces its roots back to the farmers of 16th-century Scotland. But what does the sport look like in this age of analytics? We spoke to Kenny More, Performance Analyst at SIS (sportscotland), to find out.

This conversation came off the back of stunning success at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, where Britain’s curlers claimed gold (women’s) and silver (men’s) medals.

Moving from tactical approaches based on ‘folklore’, even just hunches, to in-game decisions being backed up by the numbers, More says “the impact is definitely there”.
